01:26 pm: I'm going to attempt to post my answers to the discussion questions of my philosophy class here (assuming I don't get dropped from it tomorow for my blatant stupidity in forgetting I was enrolled in the class and the complete lack of information when it comes to not having the first two modules done and therefore getting dropped from the class entirely >_> AHem.)

11:52 pm: WRITING UPDATE

My writing, can now be found either listed on my userinfo or at Angel Dust, my sparkly new fic journal!

I will be gradually transferring everything there over a period of time. Entries will still be in this journal but there will not be links to them on my userinfo here.

As of now, all Avenged Sevenfold stories posted in 2006 are there, I plan on transferring the rest over in the next couple of days. ^_^

There actually will be a few bits and pieces new over there that have never been put up online to the public before!

07:18 pm: Well shit, Nebraska.
At around 4:30 we heard that in Fremont (maybe an hour west of us) there was an ugly storm forming, and that while there wasn't the rotation to develope a tornado, the straight-line winds could be bad. I couldn't help but turn to my coworker who was on break with me that we'd be herding all four of our floors worth of patrons and staff into the basement in twenty minutes.
Sure enough, fifteen minutes later we're telling people to sign off computers, round up their kids and head downstairs. The creepiest bit was that right up til it hit it went completely dead and stayed sunny right up...when the sirens went off. It's weird to have tornado sirens go off in bright daylight (the more cynical of us joked about air raids, since we're right by Offut Air Force Base, and this is wherethey stick the vice president if there's any sort of large-scale terror attack), and extremely eerie with completely dead, humid hair. Turns out...less than five minutes later it's so dark the streetlights seemed to be turned on...but visiblity was so limited we couldn't even see the cars in the parking lot.
Ankle deep hail in some places, windows shattered in others, 120,000 people without power...including street lights, trees torn up by their roots...I even heard a story about a boat that gotthrown up on the roof, and another house had four major trees thrown into it and over his truck.
Good grief.

yeah, this? I grew up with that African mindset.
Makes WAY more sense to me...and because of this, all the girls in my high school, middle school and college who go, "HOMG! You're SO SKINNY! THAT"S NOT FAIR" don't make sense to me. Seriously, don't hate me cause I'm skinny. Where I"m from, you'd be envied because you're actually heavier. I never could communicate that here int he US.

I suppose meaning both always and never really changes, when it comes down to the swift stretch and twist of time. It was difficult, to remember her smile, to remember those crooked teeth and thick dark hair with the biggest brown eyes I have ever seen in my life. Night and day, you said. As different as night and day, and why can't I have both? Your smile fades in the summer, love, and you'll never get it back in the spring.

Those places will never be the same, and i can never go back because that different-ness changes the way you lit up the world back then. How could you say you meant anything different, to any of us, all of us, to the way you swept along the street with brilliant eyes and a charisma that would have made the wind blow for you. Too many memories that aren't my own anymore, you gave me too much and left me with too little. You're all the same, you know, those who changed the meaning and the time.
There will be no end, because change doesn't stop, but maybe tonight I can breathe for awhile.

12:04 am: For anyone still wondering about the Fuckyou_Fandom incident
Here is the most honest rendition, from my (River's) perspective, of what happened.
ogodthe (Jesse) and I have clashed in the past on a number of issues, and I felt she had personally attacked me in several areas, most notably here.

This wasn't an issue until I found out, while attempting to post publicly on an anonymous meme on the site, that I was banned from fuckyou_fandom. To this day Jesse claims (as you can see by the reposted conversation in comments of the last journal entry) that my problem is my apparent "ego" and that people have complained, and that I whine too much about not getting any reviews. They have given me only a single instance where I have supposedly complained about not getting enough reviews-which was actually a mistake in something I posted, which had a valid explanation that they recieved-and no actual listed complaints or examples of my ego. Nor, when I requested it, did they give me any suggested ways to change or try not sound like the ass I supposedly am.

If you would like to see our conversations for yourself or any screenprints of things that have been deleted, I am more then happy to provide what I have.

I'd like to clarify here that this has been quite possibly the highlight of my online entertainment these past months, and probably ought to thank the mods of aforementioned comm for providing it.
